✨🎥 We are starstruck at what students accomplished in the making of "The Buick Special."🤩 Last Tuesday, the community showed up for the first-ever showing of the short film, “The Buick Special,” at the Brooks County High School Performing Arts Center. Students showed off their work after attending a four-week camp this summer where they learned the art of filmmaking and created their own short film! From leaning into teaching from professionals and creatives in the field about creating the foundations of story to learning how to work with cameras, compose shots, act, edit, and more - these students came together and created a MASTERPIECE.🌟 😃 Seeing the progression of these students from the first days of camp to the premiere of their film was spectacular to witness. Not to mention that the film itself was incredible and inspiring. To say we're proud is an understatement!💙 Thank you South Georgia Film Studios, PhilanthroFilms, Brooks County Schools, and individuals in Lowndes and Brooks County who saw potential in these students and pursued it! 🎥🎞 Summer Film Camp 2022 ✨ • • • The Boys & Girls Club of Brooks County and PhilanthroFilms are hosting a film camp this month for high school students across South Georgia. Last week saw the beginning of an adventure into the ins and outs of filmmaking- learning from several writers, directors, and producers about concepts like creating story and filming shots, and exploring the many different career opportunities available just within the film industry itself. That’s not all though…over the next month, these students will be working on creating a short film themselves!🎬 We are thrilled to partner with incredible organizations like PhilanthroFilms and the Brooks County School System and are starstruck at the incredible opportunity these students have.🤩 We cannot wait to see what they learn and produce!! In partnership with Brooks County School's 21st Century ECHOES program and PhilanthroFilms Studios, the Boys & Girls Club hosted a five-week summer film camp! At camp, Brooks County high school students worked with real directors, producers, and actors and experienced hands-on training with state-of-the-art cameras and equipment. Students then took what they learned about storytelling and production to make their own movie during their final days of camp. And NOW... the film premiere is here! 💦🤩One...two...three...JUMP! Our kiddos made big splashes and even bigger improvements as they learned to swim over this summer! Thanks to @mpfoundation, we have over 100 certified swimmers! They learned to jump in, go underwater, learned how to kick and move their arms through the water, and so much more!
